Biography
Anna Carey Jewelry Design was brought to life in 2003 by two sisters, Karen and Suzanne. Soon after the launch, Suzanne's daughter Star came on board and Anna Carey began to take shape. To honor their close family ties, the company is named for the matriarch of the family (grandma and mom), Anna Carey.
Since 2003, the business has grown, and the Carey girls now have workshops in Southern California and New York.
Each brings her own style and talents to the creative process which mesh into unique pieces using semi-precious stones such as rubies, garnets, onyx and natural materials such as wood and coral. These are paired with sterling silver and gold-filled chains and findings. Some of the more unusual designs use original precious metal clay pieces and fused glass, fabricated in the Anna Carey work studio in New York. All of the clay pieces are hand carved and molded, and no two are exactly alike. The fused glasswork is all one-of-a-kind.
Anna Carey has a following in New York, and is carried in numerous specialty stores, both there and in Southern California. It is a favorite jewelry line for stylists because of its simple beauty, quality workmanship and fair price point. Anna Carey is the newest designer to bridge the gap between fine and costume jewelry by using beautiful gem–quality stones, pairing them with delicate chains, and hand crafted metal and glasswork.
